The Slum School in Bali has now been running for 6 months. It was first established to help children living in a slum area in the capital city, Denpasar. However our team soon realised that there were many other slum communities nearby with children living in even greater poverty. Ayumas, our Projects Manager, worked hard to gain the trust of the parents in this new slum area and now the children are attending school regularly! In total the school is now supporting around 50 children on an ad hoc basis, with around 30 children coming pretty regularly.
