14,000 people will become infected with HIV/AIDS today. An
estimated 180,000 children are living with HIV in Asia. AIDS
is now the biggest single cause of death in the under 5’s

Sacred Childhoods has a constant stream of volunteer doctors and nurses
who travel around Indonesia offering basic treatments and advice to some
communities who are totally cut off from medical support.
Medical volunteers also help to raise awareness of the need to use condoms
in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Each of our volunteers are asked
to bring 100 condoms with them and these are given to remote villages
where there are high numbers of people with HIV/AIDS who do not have
access to condoms, nor the funds to pay for them.
