Transparency is a hot word in politics these days. At Sacred Childhoods we believe that transparency should be applied to the Aid Industry too!
We are prepared to go to extraordinary lengths to prove to you that donations are well-spent; that our projects are well-thought out and well implemented; that our communications are honest and integral; and that the effects of our work are tangible and realistic.
- Through our Policies we ensure that the money goes exactly where it’s supposed to. We do this through strict rules 'on the ground' in Indonesia and by allowing anyone visiting this website to check, track, monitor and evaluate our Quarterly and Annual Budgets, our Annual Reports and our Trustees Reports.
- Individuals or companies who create a Social Investment Fund receive quarterly financial reports and news updates including photos/video of their money in action.
- Our Global Guardians are kept fully up to date by receiving our quarterly internal reports.
- Anyone who has subscribed to the news updates receives regular feedback on the projects.
Being involved with Sacred Childhoods is not just a 'one way street' where you give money but don't receive any feedback. We wont waste time and money getting the children to make thank you cards and post them out to you - we would rather email you photos and staff updates on how the children are really doing. As part of our commitment to open and honest communication we don’t just tell you about the good stuff (quoting numbers of children helped and achievements of the foundation) we also tell you about the challenges and where we’re struggling to make a difference. In doing this we hope to give you a deeper understanding of what’s going on at ground level and bridge the gap between your life and the lives of the children.
